Alright, there's no denying it. This animated movie is purely fan service for fans of the Batman TV show from the 1960s. I personally didn't think of that as a problem, however the campy sense of humor of this Batman show may not be to the liking of the general Batman fans out there. Don't try to apply logic, and don't be alarmed by the ridiculousness of it all, because this just isn't suppose to be taken seriously. If you can go with that, then you should be entertained by this.
As a fan of the 60s TV series, I was completely sucked in by the nostalgia factor of the whole thing, as well as hearing the voices of Adam West and Burt Ward in their most famous roles. I was also glad that they went in the direction of doing things in this movie that they couldn't possibly have done with a TV budget, as they were smart to take advantage of the animated format. The story line in this one is undoubtedly the most ambitious plot the show could have ever done, and I was hooked all the way until the end.
If you ever wanted to step away from the always serious Dark Knight, and want a more lighthearted Batman, then do check out this movie.
