POSITIVES…
I got to first give kudos to the premise of this family movie, as it does make it more interesting than originally expected.
The whole plot of Abe trying to navigate through each of his family’s ideologies is fascinating to watch. He has an atheist Father, Palestinian Muslim Family from his Dad’s side, Israeli Jewish Family from his Mother’s side, and an agnostic Mom.
Visually wonderful seeing all the montage scenes of food and cooking. Flavor Map!!! You Foodies out there should enjoy this. Yum yum yum.
I also liked the stylized way the movie integrates the social media aspects and internet searches to some scenes.
The supporting cast are all good and all, but Noah Schnapp as Abe is the most interesting and inspiring character here. Shout out to Seu Jorge as Chico too!
I really appreciated the story’s themes that works with the plot lines about fusion food, and the different religious cultures.

NEGATIVES…
There’s a couple of very cliche plot turns that I wished were not included in this movie. Felt cheaply predictable to introduce those into the story.
Gets lost in itself at times with a bit of over self-indulgence.
