POSITIVES…
Sometimes you just need to watch a perfectly fine light-hearted comedy, and this is one of them.
If you’ve ever wondered what it could be like to visit your old alma mater, then I think you’d get a kick out of this movie.
Novelists and aspiring novelists will appreciate some plot points presented in the movie.
There are some running gags revolving a bed and breakfast that I rather enjoyed.
A set piece involving investigating, sneaking around, and whatnot, was the main highlight of this film.
Gillian Jacobs, Jemaine Clement, and the rest of the supporting cast are all good in this.
Tall Brandon.
NEGATIVES…
It’s not a laugh riot if that’s what you were hoping for.
It’s also not the most exciting or fast moving film either.
It’s just perfectly fine, in a potentially forgettable way.
There’s a recurring plot point that is questionably played too lightheartedly, that some people might take issue with.
P.S….
